BIRD FLU UPDATE:
Highly Pathenogenic Avian Influenza has been detected in multiple states in the U.S. including California. We are proactively implementing a number of increased biosecurity measures this year for all our day-old and coop-ready birds, to help protect both our domestic and wild birds. We are continuing to sell chicks with increased biosecurity measures, and if we need to make further changes, we will share updates as soon as possible on this page and our Instagram account.

HEADS UP! Island Seed and Feed pays a little extra for each of the chicks that we buy in to have them “sexed” at the hatchery in an attempt to weed out those pesky roosters. However, this practice is NOT 100% accurate and some male birds will slip into each of our orders, so you are always running the risk of getting a male. All sales are final and we cannot take any birds back once they leave our store. We can help you find a new home for your rooster(s), as long as you do not mind that home being in a stew pot.
